Festive Market Bookings now OPEN!

2018 Market OpenSTALL BOOKINGS OPEN! Attention Market Vendors!

Market Stall pitch bookings are now open for booking at this years Festive Event. If YOU would like a Market Pitch at Blantyre’s Festive event on Sunday 25th November 2018 (midday-5pm), you can now book using Blantyre Community Committee’s automated booking process.

Pitches offered are just £30 for the day and are 3m x 2m.  The pitch consists of a covered festive stall with table, seat and binbags. Pitches are both indoor and outdoors. This year to protect against inclement weather, the market is primarily hosted inside the large Sports Centre hall. (Important: note the change in venue! This year’s event is being held at Stonefield Public Park, Low Blantyre). A few stalls requiring power will be permitted inside the Sports Hall.

The Committee this year can accommodate 50 vendors in total (approximately 30 inside, 20 outside), allocated on a first come, first served basis so you better be FAST! This WILL sell out! Note, once the market bookings have reached 50 stalls, it will strictly close with no further room for others. A stall number will be allocated to you 24 hours after payment is made and can be found on the website.

HOW TO BOOK:

Bookings can be made securely online using either Paypal, Card or direct Bank Transfer here:

https://blantyrecommunitycommittee.com/book-a-stall/

As before, Cash and cheques will NOT be accepted. Payment is strictly due the same day as submitting the application form online. Terms and conditions apply and can be found also on that link. Please be aware all bookings are strictly non refundable.

Let’s make this the best market yet! Get booking folks!

Blantyre Toy Drive 2018

2018 toy driveBLANTYRE CHRISTMAS TOY DRIVE 2018

Our fantastic and annual, worthwhile campaign to put a smile on Blantyre children’s faces this Christmas time is now launched! Aimed to specifically benefit the children of Blantyre.

We’re again excited to partner up with local travel agents, ‘Glen Travel’ to host the “Blantyre Christmas Toy Drive 2018!”

Our amazing jointly run campaign, launched on 1st October 2018 will run for 2 months and aims to collect many new toys for children, both boys and girls from babies to 10 year olds.

Along with ‘Glen Travel’ on Glasgow Road, we plan to collect dozens of new toys of varying value, which will be given out to children at Blantyre’s forthcoming Festive Event by Santa himself!! Children attending Santa’s grotto at Stonefield Public Park on Sunday 25th November 2018 will be delighted to receive a very worthwhile, quality gift.

As always with our annual toy drive, success relies entirely upon YOUR kind assistance! We’re hoping church groups, schools, clubs will all get behind this and support the campaign by taking part, as well as YOU sitting there at home.

HOW DO DONATE.
1. Buy any toy(s) with a value of no more than £5 and as many as you want, then hand it in to Glen Travel’s shop at Glasgow Road, Blantyre during midweek or Saturday opening hours.

2. Or alternatively, donate whatever you wish financially at our Official Committee Donation Page here https://blantyrecommunitycommittee.com/donate/ so we can buy the toys directly. We’d love to see residents and businesses help out. You can even do this anonymously by clicking the DONATE NOW button at the top of this facebook page!

With YOUR help, Santa’s Grotto will be a marvel for those young children this year, and quality brand new gifts given out for them to take home.

The Toy Drive is important for Blantyre. It helps address poverty and promotes community spirit to the best of our collective ability. Hamilton an surrounding towns run something similar, so we hope YOU ALL want to support this campaign. It’s YOUR chance to put something back into the community, and spread some festive happiness.

Important: We’re not looking for second hand toys, only new, unboxed items of any value up to and including £5. Why not get your local church, school, group, pub or organisation to help or donate? Please try to donate something, even £1 will buy a present. Thank you sincerely.

As with each year, this is going to be Blantyre’s festive miracle!

Ribbons for Loved Ones

CHRISTMAS RIBBONS FOR LOVED ONES

ribbonsIt’s back! Our fantastic annual campaign is underway again for people wishing to remember their Blantyre loved ones this Christmas in the most special manner.

How would YOU like a beautiful silk ribbon, with a personal hand written message to a loved one, attached to the town’s Christmas tree?! From just £2!

A fitting & loving way remembering those family & friends no longer here.

“Christmas Ribbon for Loved Ones” costs only £2 for 1 ribbon, £3 for 2 ribbons or £4 for 3 ribbons. It’s all automated and you can pay WHEREVER YOU ARE IN THE WORLD, night and day, securely and safely using visa or debit card or by Paypal below.

You don’t need to do a thing, Blantyre Community Committee will write up the message you provide at the online checkout on to a 1m strand of silky, beautiful coloured ribbon AND then put it on the town’s Christmas tree in Stonefield Public Park on 25th November 2018, where it will respectfully remain and be visible until 4th January 2019.

Let’s cover that Glasgow Road tree in as many memorial ribbons as possible! All proceeds raised via the buying link below will go towards Blantyre Summer Gala 2019, straight back to the community.

We’re looking for Subscribers

supportBlantyre Community Committee has launched ‘Recurring Subscriptions‘! We’re looking for local residents, organisations and businesses to support the Blantyre Summer Gala Weekend, Live at Livvies and Festive event, by donating an annual amount starting at just £5.

Thats just over 1p per day, or just a little more than the price of a pub drink for the whole year! Your donation of £5 would go entirely towards providing vital services at our events, like toilets, cleaners, security and insurances. Payment is by either card or Paypal.

Our small Committee relies wholly on donations and raising funds ourselves in order to host events, so building up a good list of subscribers willing to kindly assist with small donations, is very important to us.

Of course you can set how much you wish to subscribe, and have full control if you want to cancel at any time. Please DO try to support Blantyre’s Public events using this method. We hope you all enjoy yourselves at our events and as long as there’s funds , our enthusiastic volunteers will continue to organise these events every year!

You can find out more and safely, quickly set up a subscription here https://blantyrecommunitycommittee.com/subscription/

Thank you sincerely and please feel free to share.
