Donated Toys for Santa’s Grotto

Look at this lot! These toys have all been handed to us tonight, (with many more not in the photos!), all ready for Santa coming tomorrow.

This was the outcome of “Blantyre Toy Drive 2019”, the busiest year yet and all were given to us through people donating either toys directly, or financially. Incredibly, we’ve over 210 quality, brand new children’s gifts to give out, plus selection boxes and glo sticks from Asda.

Thank you to Blantyre TelegraphBlantyre Soccer Academy and to Glen Travel for organising this and to all the very many generous individuals who donated. Thanks also to Lynne Darcey Quigley, Susan McCready and also to a generous, anonymous donation in making this further possible. Safe to say, it’s made things a lot easier for us and is going to make 210 children and their families VERY happy.

In fact, financial donations for the toy drive were so generously high this year, we had plenty left to buy lovely re-usable decorations for the grotto, which we can say, thanks to our hard efforts today, is looking beautiful for tomorrow.

The fun starts in the Public park from Midday, tomorrow, Sunday 24 November, with the grotto and most of the market in the Sports Centre hall. Lights switch on is at 4.20pm.

What a fantastic, kind community we all live in.
See you all tomorrow!
